Okay, these weren’t really salt mines but salt pans. Either way, a little over two weeks ago, I was at the salt pans in a literal way. Now, back at home and at work, I’m only in the metaphorical mines.
My film pictures won’t be ready until the end of the week, but I also took plenty of digital shots. This was taken on the day I arrived, just outside of Piran, Slovenia. The salt pans here date back to the 13th century and workers harvest the sea salt using methods unchanged for over 700 years.
