It was President’s Day here in the United States. A lot of the public schools were closed, as were banks and post offices. Some working folks took advantage of sick days or personal days to give themselves a three-day weekend to relax or take care of their kids who were home for the day.
Our college was still open, however, and the students came all day long and into the evening. After a long day of work, chores, or childcare, they still came, undaunted by the fatigue, the cold, or the dark.
There’s no rest for the weary. But there is an education.
