Grand Central

There are many vantage points, but high and low, in a train station. It’s easy to stand back and watch as so many people pass through the open airy space. If you watch closely enough and know what to look for, it is easy to tell the difference between the commuters, the tourists, and the locals. There are those who scurry through without even noticing anything about the building they are passing through, and those who rush through but still steal awed glances and the grandeur. Some of the tourists stop and take pictures, and occasionally there is a friend with them who can point out some of the quirks and secrets of the building. And of course, there are some of us who are standing off to the side, maybe waiting for a train and reading to pass the time, or watching the crowd to discover our fellow travelers.
